For My Collection

The Nativity
I love this part of the world,
where Christmas is a mystery
when Christmas is NOT a holiday.
when Christmas can be any day.

The Three Wise Men

The only two that speaks of the reason for the season in an array of "Christmas cards".
I am on my quest for more ..

20101222 Wednesday Walk (3)

It is Wednesday again.
A respite from my weekly duties.
A day for self.
To do something different,
To do something creative
or just to be lazy.

Spent almost three hours in this bookstore today.
Excited at the thought of celebrating Jesus' birthday with my co-learners.
This is the only time of the year when our work room will be spruced up for the two days' celebration.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

p.s.  I found something for my collection today, see my next blog - For My Collection.

20101215 Wednesday Walk (2)

Ah, the sweet smell of dampened earth.
Just got to find time to take a photo of each tree
that are here.
A weaving that just falls into place,

Wait.. Stop.. Shadows..
Got to get this!
This would be a nice entry for Shadow Shot Sunday
Visit this site to find out more...
Oops, wait till Sunday or take a look at past entries.

This leaf reminds me of Adam
I should have noticed this
and make good us of it
with the right pose.

Good Day!

Tell Me

      I attended a friend's baptism in this church 20101212.
Been here for several occasions, glad to have finally taken these shots.

20101215 Wednesday Walk

Spotted these benches in front of the Kaohsiung Film Archive, along The Love River.

    Look what I found.
This adds more fun to our Wednesday Walk
Something I can share with friends in Weekend Reflections.
You got to visit James' blog and see for yourself.

This leftover bag had been with us since we left the dimsum place around 2 pm
till we got home around 10.  I got to post something about food too, which is so much a part of our
walk.   Happy Weekend.

Radish Adobo with Fish

I'm not a radish fan except for spare ribs soup with radish.
The soup and spare ribs would be gone before the radish.
The radish in this dish did surprise me.

Tania, my four-year-old student harvested them.
She said the radish were all picked out before she even finished singing the radish song.
I should tell her the radish were gone before the fish in this recipe.

I have never thought of fish with radish but waking up at 11:30 in this cold weather
sure made me creative.  I just love one dish meals.

Here's how:

Slice

Saute in olive oil, ginger and soy sauce.
Add water and let it boil and then simmer in low heat
until the radish is tender.

Meanwhile, in another skillet,
brown fish fillet on both sides with ginger, then add the garlic.

Pour in the radish stew and let simmer until water is almost dry.

Serve garnished with spring onions.
Regretted why I didn't have any supply.

What's Bugging You?

This would make a good shot for an entry to Weekend Reflections
The mother was busy taking photos of his son,
not at all mindful of whatever was going on
around her,
nor of the ordeal the son had to go through
when a bug landed on his philtrum.

He tried several times to blow it off with an exhalation,
He tried to move his lips.
Who would ever wish for such a visit
even for seconds of the ten minutes before the changing of the guards?

How he wished there was someone to help him shoo it off.

I on my part, didn't dare look up and watch him that closely,
we've done a lot of practice at home
and I have always made him laugh.

That is life my son,
There will be instances when,
one can never be so well prepared.
There will be times when,
you will just have to believe
that there is time for relief.
The bug did not stay long,
It moved to his nose
and he cringed
and it left.

We did thank God that he didn't sneeze.
He kept blowing his nose backstage
I thanked my boy for not telling me about it then,
as the two hours would not be the same.
We had an enjoyable weekend,
as shown in photos below.
ENJOY
